For your safety and enjoyment of the SYC facilities, please observe the following:

  • The Sherborn Yacht Club is on private property. We are guests and should act accordingly.

  • The Sherborn Yacht Club is on private property. We are guests and should act accordingly.

  • The Yacht Club boats are for use by SYC members and their guests only. The 420’s are available to qualified skippers age 12 & over. Please follow the sign-out procedure for using boats.

  • Life jackets (one per person) must be on board every boat. (State Law)  Children 16 and under are required to wear life jackets.  Adults are strongly encouraged to wear life jackets.

  • For safety, whistles should be worn by every boater and used to summon help if needed.

  • Please wear shoes on the docks.  This will help prevent splinters and stubbed or broken toes.

  • Swimming is not allowed from the docks, raft or off SYC boats.

  • Fishing is not allowed from the SYC docks, raft or SYC boats.  You may fish at the boat ramp.

  • No intentional capsizing.

  • Please do not land an SYC boat on a private beach or the island.

  • Use common sense; sailing is at your own risk. Do not sail in winds above your ability.

  • Use of club boats during high winds or storm conditions is prohibited.

  • Do not sail during thunderstorms. If you hear thunder, return to the dock immediately. If you see   lightning, head for the nearest shore.

  • When no staff is present, anyone 16 & under must have adult supervision.

  • When you are finished sailing, please secure the boat properly and put all equipment away in the proper place.

  • Please leave bikes at the racks at the parking lot entrance.

  • For the safety and enjoyment of all, members shall follow all directions by Sherborn Yacht Club Directors and Staff.

Failure to observe the rules could result in temporary removal from the premises & loss of privileges.
