An Invitation To Join

Appreciate our beautiful Farm Pond from the best vantage point - from a boat! The SYC is a group of people who love ‘messing about in boats’ and who, like yourself, recognize Farm Pond for the treasure that it is. Perhaps you’ve seen our boats sailing on the pond and wondered what it would be like to join and be on the water.

Participation

Participate the way you want to – we have members who are serious racers, family sailors, rowers, or just partygoers. Like most Clubs, we thrive because of volunteers. If you have ideas on what we should provide, or want to contribute your time in a fun way, call one of our Directors or strike up a conversation on the docks or at one of our social gatherings.

Membership

Membership is open to adult Sherborn residents and resident and non-resident students. Family fun is what we’re all about. We have tried to plan something for all ages and skill levels.

Yacht Club Hours

Yacht Club Hours – For your sailing pleasure, the Club will be open from the end of May through Labor Day, on weekends in June and 7 days a week beginning June 24. During school days in June the Club will be open afternoons only, otherwise, SYC Dockmasters will be on duty from 10 AM-8 PM , or until sunset, whichever comes first.

Moorings

Moorings – If you own a boat and would like to moor it on Farm Pond, you must first go to Town Offices for a Boat Permit. Then ask for and submit a Mooring Application. The SYC maintains moorings for the Town. Moorings are put in by Memorial Day and are removed at the beginning of October.

Summer Sailing Lessons

Summer Sailing Lessons - Youngsters 9 through 15 years of age may sign up for our very popular youth sailing programs. Learn-to-Sail programs for adults (16+) are also available and are held in convenient day and evening hours. Our instructors are also available for private lessons.

Racing

Racing – Bring the family down on Sundays and enjoy a bit of friendly competition. Racing on the Pond is great for beginners. Experienced sailors are always ready with advice, even when you start beating them.
